The feds have finally gotten around to indicting Congressman William Jefferson (D-La). They apparently grew tired of waiting for him to offer his “honorable explanation” for keeping $90K in cold cash in his freezer. The indictment, which was handed down in Alexandria, Virginia, is 94 pages long and details 16 counts, including racketeering, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy. There was no word from Jefferson or on his website as to whether he would save his constitutents further humiliation by stepping down.
